It is one of the twelve major elements of the elemental composition of organisms.
Silicon, plays an important biological role and is considered an essential element of life.
The human blood contains about 10 mg per liter of Silicon (1/10 of calcium).

The Silanol reorganize the cell membrane phospholipids and oppose to the cytotoxicity of free radicals.

The Silanol also rejects the cross-linking or non-enzymatic glycosylation that gives rigidity to the connective tissues, causing premature aging.


Physiological activity of Silanol:
Between birth and adulthood, the reserve of organic silanol decreases regularly being a trace element essential for the proper functioning of the organism.
It takes part in the metabolism of phosphorus, magnesium and calcium.
It is able to progressively remove calcium deposits that damage the vascular walls and it allows the calcium to be deposited in the structure of the bones.
It gives back a good elasticity to our tissues, including joints, recovering features of younger individuals.
 
Lipolytic action of Silanol:
AMPc rate does not change however it is the concentration of silicon, while glycerol rates increases.
This is an activation of lipolysis by stimulation of the organic, not acting Silicon AMPc, therefore on Phosphodiesterase which is an inhibitor of free radicals formation, by orientation of hydrolysis of triglycerides into the production of unsaturated fatty acids.
There is a decrease of elastin and collagen destruction with limitation of conjunctive destruction and its sclerosis.
It reorganizes the cell membrane lipids, increasing their resistance to the attack of the peroxides.

Activity of the Organic Silanol in the skin
The Organic Silanol acts on the reorganization of the architecture of the dermis by inducing the enlargement of cutaneous depressions through siloxanic  (SI-O- SI) links between glycoproteins.
The silanol is a bridge from the four constituent macromolecules of the connective tissue of the skin.
It is, therefore, a very important element in the spatial, three-dimensional structure of the skin, which gives it its mechanical properties.
The connective tissues, such as the dermis, are characterized by the presence of an important extracellular matrix, consisting mainly of proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycan, fibers of collagen and elastin and structural glycoproteins.
The Silanol is essential for the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibers in the connective tissues. Any lack or depletion of these tissues implies a loss of elasticity and integrity.
The deficit of organic silicon from forty years of age causes a significant drying of the skin and the appearance of wrinkles.
It acts against the free radicals.
The skin renewal is faster for its stimulating action.
It improves the elasticity of the skin in the biosynthesis of elastin and collagen.

Activity of the Organic Silanol in the Hair
The organic silanol stimulates the scalp. It decreases the seborrhea, maintains a water balance of the scalp and hairy stems.
